The socioeconomic integration of second generation migrants into host labour markets poses significant challenges characterized by a wide gap when compared to their native counterparts. While extensively examined in old migration destinations, this issue remains largely unexplored in new host countries. Italy, with its recent migration history and regional disparities, offers a compelling yet understudied context for investigation. This study seeks to fill this research lacuna by analysing data from the ISTAT Labour Force Survey spanning from 2018 to 2022. Through the application of statistical methodologies, the research endeavours to elucidate the disparities in employment access and job arrangments among natives, mixed, and second generation migrants. This dissertation aims to enhance our comprehension of the divergent labour market outcomes between Italians and second generation migrants, exploring their integration trajectories in the frame of the regional disparities within the country.
