The aim is to broaden the knowledge of Chile's vernacular earthen heritage and wall decorations. The objective is to deepen the analysis of a little-known and little-analysed building heritage, which is easily perishable, through integrated representation methods and a subsequent inventory and cataloguing of the same. The current thesis proposal is part of a broader research project, financed by the Ministry of Culture, Art and Heritage of Chile, of which Prof. Natalia Jorquera Silva is the scientific head. The title of the funded project is 'Patrimonios singulares de tierra no protegidos de la región de Coquimbo, Chile. Registro y caracterización' which will run for one year from July 2022. My contribution is to assist the activities of the Chilean research group by focusing mainly on the peculiarities of decorated rural earthen buildings. Through the instrumental survey and the integrated techniques of graphic representation of the selected raw earth artefacts, I propose to create a digital archive to support the local beneficiaries, which will serve to monitor and census the present situation of the analysed heritage and propose strategies of valorisation in cooperation with the community involved and the Chilean team assisted by architect Jorquera Silva.
