The first paper examines the history of the civic heritage of Ancona, subject in 1919 of the rearrangement of Luigi Serra. The collection was divided in a number of core as a result of the annexation of the Civic Art Gallery at the National Archaeological Museum, between 1928 and 1929. The survey presents documentary sources about the balance sheet of the collections, the first notes on the dispersion of relics of Francesco Podesti, news on conservative policies and on the filing of documents signed in the early thirties, including the private collection of Enrico Milano. The second paper meticulously analyses the activities of PPAA in Le Marche, from precautionary safety plans to measures taken to protect the region’s artistic heritage. The parer also describes the work of interregional recovery organizations in Le Marche, through an examination of previously unpublished documents about Pasquale Rotondi, relating to the organization, timing, and actual composition of the artistic and cultural objects brought to safety in Sassocorvaro e Carpegna. Also describing various steps taken in Le Marche to safeguard their cultural and artistic heritage, even seeking to repatriate stolen items by the operation of Allied Sub-Commissions.
