The purpose of this work is the lexical and semantic analysis of the Easter Tales by A.P. Chekhov in the original version and in the existing Italian translations. The object of the research is to esamine the dogmatic, ritual and lexical tradition of Orthodox Easter. The work consists of the analysis of six tales by Anton Chekhov (Verba, Kazak, Svjatoj nočju, Na strastnoj nedele, Student, Arhierej) describing this tradition, and their translation into Italian. This research is the first work with didactic purposes in the field of Russian as a foreign language, in which special attention is paid to the Easter Orthodox tradition and to its representation in literary texts. As a result, a useful glossary has been created. It presents in a more analytical way the cultural and social development of religious rituals through literature. It is useful to the Italian audience who may wish to deepen the Russian-Orthodox religious tradition from a linguistic and culturological point of view. The compared analysis of Chekhov’s original Easter Tales and their Italian translations in a diachronic perspective (Leonardo Kocemski 1936 Mondadori, Alfredo Polledro 1951 Bur Rizzoli, Agostino Villa 1962 Enaudi, Giacinta De Domenicis Jorio 1963 Mursia, Olga Malavasi Arpshofen 1963 Mursia, Monica Gattini Bernabò 1984 Editori Riuniti, Bruno Osimo 1996 Mondadori, Vittoria De Garvado 2012 Sao Paulo) offers Italian advanced learners of Russian ranging from B1 to C2 levels a methodological approach through the literary texts. The didactic purpose of this work is to improve and enlarge the students’ lexical tools which are necessary for a textual and contextual interpretation, offering more precise translation choices and closer to the intention of the original.

Abstract
The didactic purpose of this work is to improve and enlarge the students’ lexical tools which are necessary for a textual and contextual interpretation, offering more precise translation choices and closer to the intention of the original.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
