IL DE LAUDIBUS DIVINIS DI GIOVANNI GIOVIANO PONTANO Studio storico e filologico, edizione critica e commento

This research consists of a study of the poetry collection De laudibus divinis of Giovanni Gioviano Pontano and is divided into three chapters. The first chapter presents a historical reconstruction of the literary work through the investigation of contexts, circulation and the fortune of the text, focusing in particular on the reconstruction of the circulation of the text between the late fifteenth and early sixteenth century. The second chapter is devoted to the philological study on drafting stratification of the text through the investigation on the manuscript and printed tradition and presents a critical edition of the text. The third chapter is devoted to comments and presents an analysis of the main changes of the text through the editorial levels, the evolution of themes, hypotexts and relations with the classical poetic traditions, with the aim to reconstruct the meaning of the poetry collection from primitive author’s intentions.
