Antichità lanuvine: nuove indagini e prospettive di ricerca sulle istituzioni politiche e religiose di Lanuvium (Latium vetus)

This studies aims to systematically analyze the institutional framework of the city of Lanuvium in Roman times, examining the organization of the city since its incorporation into the Roman state, to its decline. The research is based on examination of the literary and epigraphic sources. The city’s administration, its political and religious institutions, the magistracies, the priesthoods, the collegia, and several curiae, had never been examined analytically, and remained suspended between several assumptions often unrelated to each other and never really focused in an overall study. These new investigations and research perspectives on political and religious institutions of Lanuvium are a first attempt to address the difficult institutional reality of one of the most interesting cities of Latium vetus

Il presente lavoro ha voluto analizzare in modo sistematico il quadro istituzionale della città di Lanuvium in età romana, esaminando l’organizzazione della città dalla sua incorporazione nello stato romano, fino al suo declinio. La ricerca è fondata sull’esame delle fonti letterarie ed epigrafiche. La struttura amministrativa della città, le sue istituzioni politiche e religiose, le magistrature, i sacerdozi, i collegia, le numerose curiae, non erano state mai oggetto di un esame analitico, rimanendo sospese tra numerose ipotesi, spesso tra loro scollegate e mai veramente focalizzate in uno studio d’insieme. Queste nuove indagini e prospettive di ricerca sulle istituzioni politiche e religiose di Lanuvium sono un primo tentativo di affrontare la difficile realtà istituzionale di una delle città più interessanti del Latium vetus
