This thesis explores the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the Value Constellation of enterprises, delving into the Human+ paradigm and Hybrid Intelligence (HI) as an evolutionary outcome of the symbiosis between artificial and human intelligence. Through a path structured in theoretical analysis, empirical study and case investigation, the thesis analyses the impact of AI on value creation processes and, specifically, on Human Resource Development (HRD). The research introduces an original theoretical framework, “AI in HRD from cradle to grave”, which encompasses the entire human capital life cycle, from initial training in the education system to its continuous growth and enhancement in corporate ecosystems, offering a holistic and integrated view of the evolution of competencies in the AI era. The empirical investigation highlights the cardinal role of trust in shaping user acceptance of intelligent chatbots. The results reveal, nevertheless, a marked preference for hybrid AI solutions that combine the predictive robustness and structured knowledge base of traditional AI with the versatility and more natural interaction capabilities peculiar to generative AI. The Rocky.ai case study represents a concrete application of HI in the context of AI-enabled coaching, offering relevant insights into the factors that encourage its adoption and the strategic implications for businesses. The thesis outlines theoretical and practical implications of paramount importance for businesses, researchers and policymakers, advocating a judicious and strategic approach that prioritises human-machine synergy, shunning luddite rhetoric but zealously addressing emerging ethical challenges. Indeed, the dissertation advocates a model of ethical, responsible and human-centric development of AI, in which technology is configured as a catalyst for progress and collective well-being. Finally, the thesis opens up unexplored paths for future research to investigate HI and its impact on competitive strategies, corporate governance and the transformation of organisations in the post-human era.

Abstract
Finally, the thesis opens up unexplored paths for future research to investigate HI and its impact on competitive strategies, corporate governance and the transformation of organisations in the post-human era.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
