The doctoral project aims to study the production processes of innovative digital solutions for the exploitation of Cultural Heritage and the creation of new Digital Heritage, become a strategic sector to activate innovation processes at both national and international level. The project aims to study and design a Digital Ecosystem, understood as a place in which complex and diverse entities are identified, managed, protected and interconnected, with a view to significantly improving the encounter of multiple communities of citizens with Culture and Cultural Heritage. Investigating the methodologies and techniques applied to Cultural Heritage in the era of Digital Transformation, which have led to the conceptual evolution of Digital Heritage into a Digital Cultural Ecosystem, The research proposes the design and experimentation of a Digital Cultural Monument (DCM), that is a phygital environment in which processes, content and digital memories are interconnected to involve users in innovative living experiences. Specifically, the DCM, based on methodological approaches user-oriented and tools of user experiences, allows the user to live evolved, interactive and participatory experiences, in which the educational, cognitive and emotional impact is maximized, and to move from the current state of passive spectator, both physical and digital cultural contexts, to the role of interactive actor and protagonist of the experience, as well as being able to provide contributions that enrich it. In this way, user communities can regain a conscious and responsible ownership of both the physical heritage with which they interact and the digital entities, allowing them to expand the experience in multiple directions. The DCM, considered as an ecosystem space whose sustainability is closely linked to the relation and interaction processes that are being formed, it allows us to highlight how the cultural value of our heritage lies not in objects defined as cultural by a community of experts but in the valuable relation that record interaction with user communities, creating and passing on, in a diachronic way in time and space, narratives about the identity and the individual and collective actions of the community and transforming the relations and processes of interaction into new historical sources and memories of the present for future generations. The DCM model developed is dedicated to the value of archival assets and aims to transmit and disseminate a sensitivity of the value of archives not only as historical memory but also as an excellent current source for producing new historical interests, cultural and social, to tell stories that are hidden behind individual archival documents and to determine new scenarios for the search and use of archival documentation. Ultimately, the digitisation of Cultural Heritage, supported by the vision of Digital Cultural Ecosystems and DCM experimentation, represents an important opportunity to redefine the relation between culture, technology and society. This new paradigm allows not only to preserve the past, but to reinterpret it for future generations, transforming heritage into a living, interactive and inclusive resource. Therefore, the digital cultural ecosystem is essential to determine a renewed appropriation of Cultural Heritage by human communities and build a cultural identity of contemporaneity, to support and sustain the cultural sector’s change as a pillar for an innovative, inclusive and sustainable society.

Abstract
Therefore, the digital cultural ecosystem is essential to determine a renewed appropriation of Cultural Heritage by human communities and build a cultural identity of contemporaneity, to support and sustain the cultural sector’s change as a pillar for an innovative, inclusive and sustainable society.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
