This research investigates the role of major sporting events as instruments of governance and territorial transformation, with particular attention to their capacity to produce differentiated economic, environmental, social and cultural impacts in contexts characterized by high landscape and natural value. Employing an interdisciplinary approach that integrates geographical, socio-economic and environmental perspectives, the study focuses on the 2022 FEI World Championships, held in the Pratoni del Vivaro area within the Castelli Romani Regional Park, as a case study.
