Abstract

At Thebes, in the Hellenistic period, the discovery of terracotta figurines in the graves of individuals not yet adults confirms the general trend in the rest of the Greek world. The selected topics are deeply related to the attention of children hiding under the protection of courotrofique deities and rites of passage from puberty to adulthood, but careful analysis reveals the need to apply different interpretations in place of simple iconographic approach.
