The main question of the PhD thesis is whether it is possible to include a specific jurisdiction for collective redress in Regulation (EU) No 1215/2012 on jurisdiction in civil and commercial matters. This specific question is linked to a particular context: corporate accountability litigation for violations of human rights and the environment committed along the global value chain of a corporation. For this reason, the thesis is divided into three chapters. The first chapter covers the substantive issues related to the principle of sustainability and the specific context of corporate accountability litigation. The second chapter focuses on the analysis of the main elements of collective redress in the European Union and its Member States. Finally, the third chapter focuses on the Regulation and its flexibility to be modified in order to integrate a specific title for collective redress.
