The objective of this research is to examine the concept of paralogism and elucidate the notable advancements made by Aristotle regarding this notion, as compared to the more fundamental understanding that preceded him. The aim of this study is to identify the distinctive features of Aristotle's approach and to reconstruct the critical reading he derived from the existing contributions on this topic. Consequently, an investigation is conducted into the challenging question of the discovery of paralogism, its definition, and the distinctive characteristics of paralogism in the poietic, practical, and theoretical domains. Additionally, the question of Aristotle's indebtedness to Homer is addressed, and finally, the philosopher's consistency in the development and treatment of the subject, which has been questioned by subsequent traditions, is demonstrated.
