In this project, liquid-phase mid-infrared spectroscopy was employed as the analytical method for model washing baths. The IR spectra of aqueous samples, comprising hardened water, detergent, and soil, were collected and subsequently subjected to analysis. Moreover, a design of experiment approach was employed to predict the concentrations of numerous active components and water hardness of a model liquid detergent. The IR spectra collected were subjected to a multivariate analysis, which employed a range of techniques, including Principal Component Analysis (PCA), Linear Discriminant Analysis (LDA) for classification modeling, as well as Partial Least Squares (PLS) for multivariate regression. This approach enabled the determination of the soil class and the concentration of active detergent components.
