This thesis aims to be a contribution at research on the innovation in the organisations. The first part of the work is a retrospective look at the literature on the innovation topic. Starting from the more general model on the diffusion of innovation, the discussion continues describing the first models elaborated to study the acceptation of technology on individual basis. Then, the description of more recent models on the acceptance of innovation in organisation are examined. Basing on this retrospective look at the literature, the following step is to present a new model that summarizes the results coming from different studies. In the second part of the thesis the model itself will be applied to a specific case of implementation of a new technology in the after-sales car industry. Through a qualitative research based on semi-structured interviews the model will be applied to small-company contexts. This will allow to response at the research questions arisen during the development of the model, and to present practical implication for the actors involved in these particular cases.
