The master thesis focuses on value creation in multinational companies, taking into account the perspectives of different stakeholders and the contributions coming from key relationships. Over the years, several scholars investigated multinational companies with regard to organizational forms, headquarters' role and the relationship between headquarters and subsidiaries. After an overview of the main theories about multinational companies, the concept of value creation is explored and discussed. A clarification about the concepts of value-adding activities and value creation activities follows and major emphasis is dedicated to value creation in dyads and clusters. Then, through a qualitative research based on semi-structure interviews about Tetra Pak, theoretical concepts are applied to real-world business. The thesis highlights evidences about the evolution of the corporate strategy for value creation, which implied a new business model in a value creation perspective and crucial contributions by suppliers in terms of value creation activities. Through the examination of new technology developments by the research and development unit, then, supply chain reconfiguration and new product development processes are presented in depth.
