EXPLORING STARTUP ECOSYSTEM IN VIETNAM: A CASE OF STARTUP VIETNAM FOUNDATION'S STARTUP ECOSYSTEM

Context: Successful startup firms are able to generate jobs and contribute to economic welfare. A suitable ecosystem developed around startups is important to support startups to grow. In this regard, it is important to understand the startup ecosystem. However, there has not been a systematic and detailed study about the Vietnam Startup Ecosystem and the phenomenon itself is limited or unknown. Objectives: The purpose of the research is to critically show the current situation of the Vietnam Startup Ecosystem in general and the Startup Vietnam Foundation's Startup Ecosystem in detail. It aims to identify the elements of the Vietnam Startup Ecosystem, analyze the interactions inside and point out the maturity of the Startup Vietnam Foundation's Startup Ecosystem. Method: The secondary data was collected to identify the elements of the Vietnam Startup Ecosystem. Both primary and secondary data is adopted to explore the initiatives and understand the Startup Vietnam Foundation's Startup Ecosystem. The primary data collection was carried out by using qualitative interviews with the high credible interviewee in the ecosystem. Results: The result can be used as a guide for startups to have a deep understanding about the elements of the Vietnam Startup Ecosystem, knowing about activities of the Startup Vietnam Foundation's Startup Ecosystem.
