The document concerns the analysis of a real acquisition performed by an Italian industrial company which manufactures automatic packaging machine and the relative film for the packaging of fresh food. The author took personally part to the entire process, to the very beginning up to the closing of the deal, contributing concretely to the realization of the business plan that the company used to evaluate the acquisition. The first part focuses on the analysis of the literature available on M&A market, and the analysis of the M&A market. In particular, as concerns the literature, the first chapter is about external and internal ways of growth, and their advantages and disadvantages, then the attention is moved towards acquisitions, their advantages, main phases and structure. After the analysis of the M&A market, the second part is about the real acquisition. It starts with a brief introduction of the counterparts and then it present the acquisition in all its phases and details, giving particular attention to the business plan and integration phase.
