Ceramics have been playing a significative role in the diffusion of “Made in Italy” style since the beginning of last century. The industrial district of Sassuolo has been of fundamental importance in this regard, thanks to high level competencies and strong efforts aimed towards internationalization of local companies. Last decades showed how the establishment of foreign productive branches was a key for further expansion, even though approaches can change. Two corporate examples illustrate the main advantages brought by different implementations of FDIs.

Abstract

Ceramics have been playing a significative role in the diffusion of “Made in Italy” style since the beginning of last century. The industrial district of Sassuolo has been of fundamental importance in this regard, thanks to high level competencies and strong efforts aimed towards internationalization of local companies.
