Industrial policy and economic development . The case of Vietnam

The thesis analysis the role of industrial policy in the economic growth of Vietnam. Industrial policy in Vietnam and other countries must include everything from macroeconomic policy, especialy the exchange rate policy, to the development of market-supporting institutions such as laws protecting intellectual property rights or discourage foreign ownership of domestic assets. The paper focuses on period of ten years from 2009 to 2019, much of the success in industrial development in this period has been due to the decisions of government to remove barriers for foreign direct investors and more recently for domestic investors. The thesis begins with a overview of Vietnam's economic situation, specific industrial policy following by a detailed analysis of the current performance of Vietnamese industries and the development of the economy. Then I conclude with a list of current difficulties and propose changes that are more suitable for the development of economy
