Gli Edifici Religiosi delle Province Ecclesiastiche Campane

The subject of this research concemed some religious buildings in the ecclesiastical provinces of Campania. The research study analyzed the sacred building from an architectural and symbolic point of view. The research allowed the drawing up of a catalog of some religious buildings in Campania. The research results were grouped into three distinct tomes. The fttst tome dealt with architectural analysis, the second tome dealt with symbolic and mathematical analysis, and the third tome cataloged the religious buildings studied. In the fttst volume of the research study, the building types of some congregations and religious orders were studied, comparing the works carried out in the Campana area with the architectural works carried out on a nationallevel. The second volume of the research study dealt with sacred symbology and its correlations with astronomy, with particular reference to mathematical symbk and ancient construction methods. In particular, the following have been studied: the constructive method of dynamic quadrangles, introduced by the Roman-Latin school, the constructive method of the Diophantine triangle, introduced by the Alexandrian school and the constructive method of the golden section, introduced by the GreekHellenistic school. In the third volume of the research study some religious buildings in Campania were found, reconstructing the various construction phases. These religious buildings have been divided into residences and buildings for worship. The ecclesiastical residences have been classified into episcopal palaces, conservatories and religious convents. This research study represents an originality in the field of historicalarchitectural research, as it allows to identify local architectural types, comparing them with national architectural works. The originality of the research is also given by the symbolic and mathematical analysis of the sacred building applied to the buildings built in the Campana area. [edited by Author]
