This research aims to analyze how the health emergency during the COVID-19 pandemic was managed from a communications perspective. I can say that a complex picture emerged, in which industry experts, scientists, and journalists bore a significant responsibility for what citizens learned and how safe and reassured they felt about what was happening. The data collected in this work served to highlight the differences in communication regarding the management of the health emergency dictated by the pandemic. Specifically, we focus on the protocols adopted in non-European countries, which were compared with those used in Italy. Italy, for example, has been held up as a model for managing the pandemic and containing the virus; numerous writings and newspaper articles support this thesis, which has received extensive coverage in national and international media. However, further investigation revealed a different interpretation of the data. Countries that were not even considered by the World Health Organization have implemented highly effective protocols capable of containing the virus, and in some cases, stemming it within a few months. To further my theory, I had already conducted research on several countries in the Far East and the Pacific, which have a high success rate. This research then allowed me to connect with sociologist Luca Ricolfi of the David Hume Foundation; a collaboration was born that proved crucial for me to delve deeper into my research. I then had the opportunity to write several articles that were published in the Hume Foundation's online journal. In particular, in my writings, I analyzed the pandemic situation in Asia and the advanced countries of the Western Pacific, the measures adopted to combat the virus, the management of communication by local media, and national attention, summarizing the findings of my research.
