This research project aims to provide an updated critical edition of Lucian of Samosata’s Pseudologista, complete with a new Italian translation and a commentary that investigates the work from a content, linguistic, stylistic, and philological perspective. The edition is based on the systematic and complete collation of all twenty-seven medieval and humanistic manuscripts and is divided into four parts. The first section is introductory, providing a general overview of the invective’s content, structure, mode of performance, location, and date, as well as the language and style that characterize the pamphlet. The second section focuses on reconstructing in detail the history of the Pseudologista’s textual transmission. It gathers the specific philological-textual, paratextual, and data that allowed us to trace the stemma codicum of the work. The third section contains the Greek text and the Italian translation, and the final chapter is dedicated to the commentary on the work. At the end of the study, we have included two appendices: one contains a prospectus on the numbering system typically used to designate Lucian’s various works, and the other, the complete collection of all scholia to the Pseudologista, accompanied by a critical apparatus.

Abstract
At the end of the study, we have included two appendices: one contains a prospectus on the numbering system typically used to designate Lucian’s various works, and the other, the complete collection of all scholia to the Pseudologista, accompanied by a critical apparatus.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
