Contemporary cities are called to rebuild a profound harmony between urban space and the natural environment, between the human and the more-than-human dimension. This balance, grounded in the recognition of Ecosystem Services (ES), is the key to ensuring well-being, resilience, and quality of life. The research proposes an interpretative paradigm that considers ESThe research proposes an interpretative paradigm that considers ES as an integral part of the urban and territorial heritage, not as “accessory” elements but as essential infrastructures for the city of the future. From this vision emerges a design model articulated into strategies and guidelines, conceived to guide urban and territorial planning towards more feasible, inclusive, and adaptive solutions. Green spaces, ecological networks, and open areas are addressed asGreen spaces, ecological networks, and open areas are addressed as transformative devices, able to improve the environment, strengthen social and identity bonds, and foster a renewed collective awareness. Le città contemporanee sono chiamate a ricostruire un’armonia profonda tra spazio urbano e ambiente naturale, tra dimensione umana e più-che-umana. Questo equilibrio, fondato sul riconoscimento dei Servizi Ecosistemici (SE), è la chiave per garantire bene-essere, resilienza e qualità della vita.
