Bone metastases (BMs) are now considered a disease with a high social impact, for their frequency and for the impact on the prognosis and quality of life (QoL). BMs are frequent findings of several solid tumors, especially breast, prostate, lung, kidney and thyroid cancers and is linked to a poorer prognosis dramatically reducing patient survival. The management of patients with BMs is challenging and requires a multidisciplinary approach. BMs rapresent a complex pathophysiological process between host and tumor cells that results in cell invasion, adhesion migration and stimulation of osteoblastic and osteoclastic activity.

Abstract
Bone metastases (BMs) are now considered a disease with a high social impact, for their frequency and for the impact on the prognosis and quality of life (QoL). BMs are frequent findings of several solid tumors, especially breast, prostate, lung, kidney and thyroid cancers and is linked to a poorer prognosis dramatically reducing patient survival. The management of patients with BMs is challenging and requires a multidisciplinary approach. BMs rapresent a complex pathophysiological process between host and tumor cells that results in cell invasion, adhesion migration and stimulation of osteoblastic and osteoclastic activity.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
