After examining the role of the Kingdom of Sicily within the politics of the central-western Mediterranean during the 15th century, this doctoral thesis focuses on the relationship between Ottoman expansion and the strategies adopted by the island to potentially resist an invasion, during the periods 1478–81, 1484–85, and 1488.
