This work offers the critical edition of Francisco Fernández de Córdoba’s Examen del Antídoto, one of the most erudite defenses of Góngora’s Soledades and the most solid response to Juan de Jáuregui's Antídoto contra la pestilente poesía de las Soledades (1615). The research is based on the increasing interest aroused by the phenomenon of the debate around Góngora. We refer, particularly, to the Pólemos research project, directed by professor Mercedes Blanco (Université Paris-Sorbonne, Paris IV) and sponsored by OBVIL (Observatoire de la Vie Littérarie). The program of the above-mentioned research team, that includes many researchers of international renown, intends to shed light on the dynamics regarding the debate around Góngora, through a systematic work of edition and comment of the texts. Respecting the criteria established by Pólemos, this edition showcases an introductory study articulated in ten chapters, focused on the analysis of both internal and external matters of the piece: title, authorship, chronology, sources, debated concepts, etc. Furthermore, there is Examen’s critical edition, profusely annotated and established through the application of Lachmann’s method. The eight preserved testimonies have been collated in order to locate a handful of significant errors, allowing the identification of the different textual families. To conclude, a negative apparatus, which gathers the substantial variants not accepted by the editor, is provided.

Abstract
To conclude, a negative apparatus, which gathers the substantial variants not accepted by the editor, is provided.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
