The first section outlined the abbey’s growth and consolidation up to XVI century, focusing on the creation of an extended network of depending religious houses; the second one is about the community’s normative sources and its inner organization; in the third section the point at issue is the rise of the monastic lordship. An historiographic introduction and four appendixes integrate the text.
