COL REGOLO NEL TASCHINO. LA FORMAZIONE DELL'INGEGNERE MILANESE TRA SCUOLA E ASSOCIAZIONI (1863-1960)

The study looks into a century of culture among Ita an engineers, especially from Milan, between 1863, when the Polytechnic in Milan as established, and 1960, when the mass university started and then developed, wit its period of protest. The most significant steps in the training of an enineer, in a country with very little technical inclination, were from one side the Polytchnic in Milan, a highly technological school; from the other side the categry associations, the institutional ones like the engineers’ order, or the free ones li e the “College of engineers” of Milan. All these were always aimed to a “technical humanis ”, beyond exasperated specialization, and developed a special relationshi with the “cousins” architects, whose training looked for artistic expressiveness rather han technical-scientific rigour.
