This research pursues two major aims. The first objective is to identify and reconstruct a formal theory of the human being, i.e. a logic of humanity, in the line of thought shared by Windelband, Rickert, and Lask. This unique form of logic has shaped the philosophical processes of the three authors, it is aimed at bringing to light the invariable structures of human life in the world, distinguishing certain categories in the human being: namely that man is a worldly, historical, and ethical being. These categories are discussed by the three philosophers through the notion of value. The second objective of the research is to assess the current significance of such theory and, at the same time, to highlight its limits. With respect to current philosophical issues, such logic of humanity provides nonetheless fecund elements: such as the value attributed to the bodily dimension of the human being, its unique notion of teleology, and the concept of the ethical subject. These aspects of the theory can genuinely contribute to current philosophy in the reconsideration of the status of the human being. Having expounded on these two aims, this research finally proposes a reconsideration of the status of the Neokantianism of Baden in the light of an anthropological perspective, without postulating a sort of strong relation between it and the philosophical Anthropology inaugurated by Scheler, Plessner and Gehlen.
Il presente lavoro si pone un duplice obiettivo. In primo luogo, esso intende rintracciare, nell’alveo dell’ideale linea di pensiero che unisce le filosofie di Windelband, Rickert e Lask, una teoria formale dell’uomo, una logica dell’umano, tesa a riconoscere le strutture invarianti della vita umana nel mondo. Tale logica informa trasversalmente il procedere filosofico dei tre pensatori, pervenendo all’individuazione di diverse categorie proprie dell’umano (l’essere mondano, storico ed etico) ripensate attraverso il prisma concettuale offerto dal dispositivo valoriale. A questo primo obiettivo, di natura squisitamente storiografica, con il quale si intende riconoscere un’indagine formale sull’uomo entro l’intricata trama concettuale ordita dalle ricerche metodologiche dei filosofi in questione, si lega il secondo: vagliare l’attualità e i limiti di tale teoria. Sottoposta al vaglio del presente, la logica dell’umano si rivela ancora feconda sotto alcuni aspetti (la rivalutazione della dimensione corporea del soggetto umano, una peculiare nozione di teleologismo, il concetto di soggetto etico), i quali possono concorre ancora oggigiorno alla riproposizione della Menschenfrage. A partire da questo duplice obiettivo, il presente lavoro propone di ripensare lo statuto del neocriticismo di Windelband, Rickert e Lask alla luce di motivi antropologici, senza, tuttavia, postulare una qualche diretta parentela tra tale movimento di pensiero e l’antropologia filosofica inaugurata, negli anni venti del Novencento, da Scheler, Plessner e Gehlen.
