The goal of this thesis is to understand the legal position of women in Hindu personal law through the examination of the rules governing succession. Hindu law is a religious law on the formation of which has played a very strong influence induism. The decision to deal with one aspect of the Hindu law is born by the wish to understand the reason for the existence of a religious law in the present age.
