Mine project aims to understand and evaluate Milan’s changes during an important season for its nationally and internationally statement. Moving from the traditionally idea that "Milan makes itself," the setting up of Simplon’s Exhibition was an important and valuable opportunity of cooperation of private and public efforts, with the direct participation of the Municipality. Milan was not only the protagonist of the urban and architectural transformation, but also of process of improvement of social conditions and of increase of cultural activities. It also consider the legacy of this event after the conclusion of the Exhibition: with Acquario's exception, none of the most iconic buildings of the white city lasted to remind the magnificent work of Simplon's Exhibition, which left a much rich bequeath to Milan. The cultural and social heritage have ensured the eternal memory for an so felt event, but so fleeting.
