This research aims at offering a musicological study ranging in its approach from historical, philological and critic perspectives, focusing on keyboard concertos of the Neapolitan school in the second half of the 18th century and presenting the edition of two previously unpublished works, composed by Ferdinando Pellegrini (1715 ca. – 1766 ca.) and Alessio Prati (1750-1788), found in Stockholm. Considering the 18th century concertos as expression of the civiltà della conversazione, these turn out to be crucial to the dialogue on which the instrumental language is based and the relevant connections with their dramaturgical aspects. Moreover, the musical system varies according to the existing relations inside the varying aristocratic patronage network – often promoted by high standing noble women, thus facilitating the approach towards gender history. Furthermore, essential relations with the freemasonry are not to be ignored nor excluded. Assuming a different point of view, these could be used to (re)interpret the tracks beaten by the artistic fate and path of some composers as part of their itinerancy.

Abstract
Assuming a different point of view, these could be used to (re)interpret the tracks beaten by the artistic fate and path of some composers as part of their itinerancy.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
