The research presented in this thesis deals with the application of geomatic methodologies in different areas of Cultural Heritage. A multi-methodological and multi-scalar approach was set up and proposed, not limited to a specific object or problem, but open to the different disciplines, in order to highlight the potential of Geomatics in its synergistic interaction with multiple fields: archaeology, art history, engineering, architecture, monitoring of deformations. The presented case studies represent different research contexts, in which geomatic techniques offer their contribution in terms of measurement and metric characterization, analysis of 3D and satellite data, monitoring, providing accurate data aimed at study and conservation. The San Lorenzo bridge and the Nora theatre represent case studies related to Roman archaeology, although with different peculiarities and objectives. The first focused on the analysis of a methodological comparison, the second concerned a detailed campaign of survey for the historical and architectural characterization of ancient buildings. The study of the Rovegliana area broadens the field of analysis, with the use of ground-based and satellite techniques (GNSS and DInSAR), for the purpose of monitoring the deformations on ground and buildings. The 3D survey of the Serangheion then approaches Greek archaeology, with the documentation of an underground water complex, for an analysis aimed at the interpretation of the structure and its evolution, as well as its conservation. Finally, the measurement campaign carried out in the “Sala del trionfo” of the Odeo Cornaro provides the first digital documentation of the precious decorative apparatus created by Tiziano Minio. The work offers an important contribution to the knowledge of the artwork, also for the purpose of conservation, in addition to the public fruition of the results, through the online sharing of digital models and the production of a 3D print of part of the stucco. The use of a wide range of combined techniques, from classical to the most innovative methodologies, has made it possible to satisfy the specific objectives set, with the production of significant results which, in various ways, have contributed to the research in the different fields of application.
Il lavoro di ricerca esposto in questa tesi tratta l’applicazione delle metodologie geomatiche in diversi ambiti dei beni culturali. Si è voluto impostare e proporre un approccio multi-metodologico e multi-scalare, non limitato a un oggetto o una problematica specifica, ma che spaziasse tra le diverse discipline, al fine di mettere in luce le potenzialità della geomatica nella sua sinergica interazione con molteplici ambiti: dall’archeologia alla storia dell’arte, dall’ingegneria all’architettura fino al monitoraggio delle deformazioni. I casi studio presentati rappresentano differenti contesti di ricerca, in cui le tecniche geomatiche offrono il loro contributo in termini di misura e caratterizzazione metrica, analisi dei dati 3D e satellitari, monitoraggio, fornendo dati accurati e finalizzati allo studio e alla conservazione. Il ponte di San Lorenzo e il teatro di Nora afferiscono all’ambito dell’archeologia romana, pur presentando peculiarità e obiettivi di ricerca differenti. Il primo è incentrato sull’analisi di un confronto metodologico, il secondo ha riguardato una dettagliata campagna di rilievo per la caratterizzazione storico-architettonica degli edifici antichi. Lo studio dell’area di Rovegliana allarga invece il campo di analisi, con l’impiego di tecniche ground-based e satellitari (GNSS e DInSAR), ai fini del monitoraggio delle deformazioni su terreno e edifici. Il rilievo 3D del Serangheion si approccia poi all’archeologia greca, con la documentazione di un complesso idrico ipogeo, per un’analisi mirata all’interpretazione della struttura e della sua evoluzione, oltre che alla sua tutela. Infine, la campagna di misure svolta nella sala del trionfo dell’Odeo Cornaro fornisce la prima documentazione digitale del pregiato apparato decorativo realizzato da Tiziano Minio. Il lavoro offre un importante contributo alla conoscenza dell’opera, anche ai fini della conservazione, oltre alla fruizione pubblica dei risultati, tramite la condivisione online dei modelli digitali e la produzione di una stampa 3D di una parte degli stucchi. L’impiego combinato di un’ampia gamma di tecniche, dalle metodologie classiche alle più innovative, ha permesso di soddisfare gli obiettivi specifici prefissati, con la produzione di risultati significativi che, in vario modo, hanno contribuito alle ricerche nei vari campi di applicazione.
