This study focuses on the analysis of the several transformations which are observable in a particular area of the inner city of Rome, and furthermore aims to provide a working method that could be increased and widened, in order to be applied to further individual cases. The first step of the work consisted in leading an historical research, by means of bibliographical, cartographic and iconographic sources, which were essential to first draft a diachronic summary of all the permutations concerning the area, and to indentify the main temporal sections. The documents collected were subsequently arranged and interpreted, to serve as a basis for the final composition, in which the many pieces of information were then compared. The applicative and experimental phase was structured over two different scales of representation: a urban one and an architectonical one. A first series of processed images was meant to retrace the transformations suffered by the building pattern from the 16th century on. A deeper analysis focus on the essentially architectural aspect, and brought to the processing of further models at a more detailed scale. At last, the research is centred on a very narrow area: the Ripetta Harbour, a point of particular convergence for the whole economical and social life of the neighbourhood: the outcome consists in a sequence of 3D reconstructions, aimed to covey a visualization, as clear as it can be, of the changes that followed one another, both on an overall urban scale of the area itself, and on a more detailed level concerning the bordering buildings, which can be useful to whomever aims to develop further studies to be founded on this one.

Abstract
At last, the research is centred on a very narrow area: the Ripetta Harbour, a point of particular convergence for the whole economical and social life of the neighbourhood: the outcome consists in a sequence of 3D reconstructions, aimed to covey a visualization, as clear as it can be, of the changes that followed one another, both on an overall urban scale of the area itself, and on a more detailed level concerning the bordering buildings, which can be useful to whomever aims to develop further studies to be founded on this one.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
