Innovation in neuro-oncological surgery embodies a dual face: while technological advancements can substantially improve surgical precision and patient outcomes, they may also introduce therapeutic approaches whose long-term efficacy and safety remain questionable. This dissertation explores both aspects through two complementary investigations: the role of augmented reality high-definition fiber tractography (HDFT) in primary motor area high-grade glioma surgery (M1 HGGS), and the impact of adjuvant radiotherapy on residual WHO grade I meningiomas following subtotal resection. Herein, we examine the Janus-faced nature of scientific and technological innovation in neuro-oncology, analyzing both its benefits and its limitations considering the presented results. By addressing this dual impact, our aim is to provide a balanced perspective on how innovation has reshaped neuro-oncological practice, highlighting not only its transformative potential but also the caution required in its application.
